  • choose colors for effective interfaces accessible to many;
  • structure the content in an information architecture that facilitates understanding;
  • master the grids and typographic composition rules adapted to the web and on screen;
  • learn the latest techniques of online publication (CSS, hyphenation support etc);
  • and last but not least, get valuable advice from leading experts (web designers, type designers, ergonomists).

Review 1 Being unaware of the importance of readability on websites I find that this book is a gold mine. It is full of tips and tricks based on scientific analysis and research. The book is well structured which allows you to easily and quickly develop a list of things to improve on your own site. (Posted by Cupid's Arrow)

Review 2 Last book I read on this topic was Rosemary Sassoon's "Computers and Typography" which was more concerned with word processing and the history of writing, rather than web readability. If you are involved in web design or web development, this book will make a useful addition to your bookshelf. (Posted Web Design Shrewsbury)

Review 3 Finally a book on the subject! Books on the internet have failed to focus on readability. After a remarkable synthesis of the mechanics of reading and typography on the screen, this book offers original and verifiable guidance to master the readability of online documents.
