Web Design Index (Volume 9) by Guenter Beer From the Publisher The increasing use of fast Internet connections over the years has increased the ability of designers to design bigger websites, including the use of large image files. Web design has come of age. While many designers in the past only reluctantly switched from print to web, web design has now become for many designers their main field of activity. The results of these developments are seen in this year's edition of the bestselling Web Design Index, which provides the best overview of the state of the art in web design.
Review 1 This is my first book in the series, but I am wondering whether I should read the predecessors as well. All in all, I am quite satisfied. We are shown a variety of websites, which can be very inspiring. Especially in uncreative phases, this book can be a nice asset to optimize the generation of ideas. However, there are a few blemishes. The CD is totally useless. Only the PDF version of the book is included on it. I would have expected at least that the individual links below the screenshots would be clickable. Unfortunately not. Some sites are very, very abstractly presented. However, I can recommend this book for hours of cozy browsing in those uncreative phases. (Posted by Baron Munchausen)
Review 2 Like the other books in this series, this issue is again a very successful work. I particularly like this time the collection of very different websites and the classification by color. The book provides a good overview of current trends and web standards. If you are lost for inspiration, just take the book and scroll. For me - an absolute must, this should not be missing on the book shelf of a web designer. (Posted by Schwartzkopf)
Review 3 As an overview this was a good read. Not having come across this series before, I'd like to look at the first volume just to see how things have moved on in the last few years. (Posted by Web Design in Shrewsbury)
Review 4 Web Design Index is a great series. I now have four volumes of this series and cannot get enough! (Posted by Helga)
