Recycling Rainwater

Recycling Rainwater: Planning, Implementation and Electronic Control of a Recovery Facility by Ralf Pagel Synopsis The price of tap water increases. Its quality and price make it precious and make misuse regrettable. Why let something that’s precious fall from the sky without benefit? Some installations performed by individuals are flawed and suggest a technical immaturity. Those that work smoothly and meet their users’ requirements are numerous but their designers do not talk enough about them. This book provides us with several years experience in the field. It describes the design and construction of three types of recycling facilities for rainwater distinguished by ambitious control devices that have been proven to work. It focuses on the tricks of the experts who do not belong to a particular trade. Accessible to the layman, it covers all areas relevant to a recycling facility, including excavation, masonry, plumbing and electronics. Two montages, showing electronic control with the design of printed circuits, complete the work. Technicians, amateurs or professionals, craftsmen especially, will find knowledge, tools and tips to achieve a working installation of rainwater recycling; less enterprising readers will be better able to understand and evaluate the bids of surveyors.

Review 1 I was looking for a book to guide me in the self-construction of a water recovery system. Here is a book that details three different systems, and allows the realization of various electronic controls. I personally would have preferred more info on the infrastructure itself (tank, pipes, etc) but I recommend it to those who want to do everything from A to Z. (Posted by Andy)

Review 2 The UK is actually a “water deficient” country and large areas of arable land in the south are currently facing a crop crisis, with the likely impact of a rise in food prices. As water becomes more precious, methods to recycle rainwater become more urgent. This book is a useful guide for the DIY enthusiast. (Posted by Skip Hire)
